A Brief History, Since 1981
Where We've Been and Where We're Going
Prior to Stinson’s Interior Solutions, founder Bill Stinson had a long tenured career as a branch manager for a cabinet and window supplier for 27 years. Near the end of his tenure, the company had purchased a carpet mill in Georgia. Due to Bill’s excellent work ethic and expertise, the company elected for Bill to travel and learn about the carpet business. That company had begun makes significant changes and Bill made the decision to pursue increased product quality and superior service by starting his own company. His previous employer elected to not be in competition and decided to close their Lakeland branch. The Stinson family had a wonderful blessing to kick start Stinson’s in the Lakeland area with existing team members, installers and customers. Additionally, Bill received the call to take over a window branch alongside the carpet company and elected to take the additional opportunity.
Bill and his wife, Jean Stinson attended their first trade show in 1981 for Stinson’s and continued to push growth for the business until they retired in 1991 and 2002. They were instrumental in growing Stinson’s which resulted in expanding our office locations and team members, ultimately to the central location we are in today, since moving in 1989.
Sons, Randy, Ron and Rick Stinson all continue the family legacy by working for Stinson’s Interior Solutions today. Stinson’s began as a carpet company and are fortunate to have grown into tile products, vinyl plank, cabinets, countertops, window treatments and offer commercial services to general contractors.
